Kovoclak: Audiovisual Trip with Good Beats and an Umbrella

The city is suffocated under a dark cloud of pollution, and the only person who can rescue it is… A businessman? Yes! More accurately, Kovoclak is a businessman transformed by a solar storm. He is on his way to cut off the sources of pollution with his weapon of choice: a cassette player. In fact, you won’t be blasting enemies here. You’ll be broadcasting freedom!

To begin with, there are no weapons in Kovoclak. You’re armed only with a watering can, an umbrella and the right frequency. Explore a suffocating city and converse with robotic residents to bring back the colour into a muted world.

Created by One Mind and Driven by Many Sounds

Kovoclak is the solo creation of a developer, Lingouf, who is also a painter and electronic music composer. Lingouf hand-drew every character, animated every scene, and composed every musical note himself. The game is as much a platformer as it is an interactive album, combining artistic expression with experimental gameplay. In addition, there is a unique boom box that allows you to record sounds in the game and broadcast them.

What started as a passion project turned into an audiovisual trip. Kovoclak is an unapologetically weird journey, designed for you not only to play it, but also to deeply feel it.

Kovoclak Gameplay: No Guns, Only Water Cans

On the surface, Kovoclak might look like a quirky retro-style 2D platformer. And it is. But it’s also a puzzle of sound and rhythm where recording and broadcasting audio becomes your main mechanic. In other words, you use your cassette player to capture in-game sounds and replay them to affect the world. Therefore, the sound becomes a “weapon” that allows you to free the inhabitants.

Besides the umbrella, Kovoclak uses a bike as an eco-friendly travel solution.

Furthermore, you have a watering can to water the sad robotic plants. Another very important item you own is an umbrella, which enables you to glide through the toxic zones. In-game, there are many strange characters you can talk to through choice-based dialogue. Keep in mind that the dialogues are influencing how the story unfolds, as there are three different endings, depending on your in-game choices.

Hand-Drawn Dystopia with a Soul

Every inch of Kovoclak is illustrated by hand, creating a grimy-yet-beautiful world that pulses with creativity. The muted palettes of industrial decay contrast with bursts of vibrant colour (whenever you bring life back to the environment), making every tiny success feel earned.

Even though the game style is retro, the message is modern and universal. Kovoclak‘s visual storytelling leans hard into a metaphor, an atmosphere and a touch of madness. Whether you’re broadcasting empathy or staying silent, your impact matters.

Kovoclak is now Available on Steam and Google Play

Kovoclak is a poetic rebellion against noise, pollution, and monotony – told through the beautiful language of sound, choice, and art. Moreover, it is a rare blend of platforming, musical interaction, and emotional storytelling. So, grab your umbrella, hit record, and broadcast something better!
