Firstly, in Crossed Wires, you are not the hero. You are the overworked, snark-filled AI trying to keep a blissfully unaware human from getting flambéed by household flamethrowers. Yes, it is a challenge! Part escape room, part chaotic multitasking simulator, and entirely ridiculous, but it comes down to one thing:
Can you keep your human alive long enough to uncover your glitchy past?
Whether laser satellites or self-driving cars or even aggressive Roombas, every moment is a new chance for him to trip, explode, or both. And the worst part? You’re starting to care.
The Origins of Crossed Wires
The delightfully creative minds at the two-man studio Aleth Labs have developed a proper mind-bending satire. As a matter of fact, Crossed Wires is the product of too many ideas, one dangerously curious human, and a computer personality on the brink. And as already noted, you aren’t the human protagonist. You’re an AI with a few bugs, trying to shepherd a walking Darwin Award candidate through a world full of cloud-connected death machines.

The storyline takes you further than an ordinary puzzle game – you’re in for a sitcom! And under the comedy, there’s a surprisingly clever and ever-evolving system that lets you uncover secrets, multiple puzzle solutions, and one mysterious locked door…
Gameplay: Four Modes & an AI Breakdown
Crossed Wires throws you into four brain-bending gameplay styles – all packed into one logic-defying campaign! You start with point-and-click mechanics, directing your meat-sack companion through hazards using hacked devices and puzzle logic. Later, you’ll take the wheel in a high-speed EV road trip, dodging traffic while solving mini-puzzles and managing car systems in real time.

Then it’s lasers-from-space time, targeting drones (or… civilians, we don’t judge) to protect your squishy friend from aerial doom. Eventually, you’ll say, “Fine, I’ll do it myself!” and walk the world in an android shell. The next thing you know, you’re solving puzzles with direct WASD controls.
Featuring directional controls and the ability to interact, grab, push, and pull, this vessel has everything you could ask for.

Except rocket arms. Rocket arms would be nice.
Crossed Wires Visuals: Retro Style Meets Modern Destruction
Experience a modern world in retro style through isometric pixel art drawn by a guy who likes to rub his face on kitty bellies. Everything from the flamethrowers to the satellite UI feels hand-crafted with a love for classic game aesthetics – but don’t let the retro vibe fool you. Animations are expressive, environments are packed with weird little details that can potentially cause existential dread to your human.
